Faculty Position: Theorist in Attosecond AMO Science
The Department of Physics and the College of Optics
& Photonics (CREOL) at the University of Central Florida invite applications for
a joint, tenure-track position at Assistant Professor level in theoretical attosecond, atomic, molecular, and optical science
to add to their highly successful joint program in the area and the newly established Institute
for the Frontier of Attosecond Science and Technology (iFAST). Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physics, or a related
discipline, from an accredited institution and have a substantial record of independent, well regarded research. The successful
candidate will be expected to establish a vigorous and creative research program with a strong commitment to excellence
in graduate and undergraduate education. The candidate will choose either Physics Department or CREOL as the tenure home.
UCF is a leading, fast growing, metropolitan, research-intensive university with about 60,000 students. The Department of
Physics currently has 40 faculty members and offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in several areas. CREOL is the first graduate
college in optics, lasers, and photonics in the nation, offering a comprehensive education in all these subjects, with over
50 faculty and scientists. There are also opportunities for synergy with a rapidly growing
Biomolecular Sciences Center, the Advanced Materials Processing and Analysis Center,
and Nanoscience Technology Center and a new College
of Medicine.
Interested individuals must complete an on-line application by going to: www.jobswithucf.com.
The application must include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and a summary of research and teaching portfolio. Applicants
